bahia, brazil!!!

Giovanni very happy to be back on the beach in brazil after 5 months of more mountainous travels...

Arimbepe, north of Salvador, finally arrived after 2000km trip by bus from Sao Paolo in the sout...h

well, here we are in bahia, brazil. the northern state where capoeira began and which has a sad hsitory of slavery, but which has a strong population of happy, loud and show what you,ve got people!!!
it,s been very relaxing as you can see from the photos, finally being at the beach again after five or so months of more mountainous travelling. we have enjoyed the bungalow we have been living in high up off the ground, unfortunately there are soooo many mosquitões that we have to sleep down under it with our fine netted tent, which is sand-fly proof but extremely hot and humid!!! these last few weeks of our time here in South américa we have filled easily with long beach walks, enjoying the big difference of high and low tide which creates natural green swimming pools, drinkging lots of yummy fruit smoothies and getting healthy again after being a bit lazy of late!! and also from the first day we got here in this small coastal town of Arimbepe, we,ve been playing music with our dear new friends, cynthia from spain and sara from Portugal, who both have bahian boyfriends and are living here. we made an immediate connection and have been loving playing brazilian classics like the lambada and other typical andina music, on the weekends at the beach restaurants, for the many rich mainly Southern brazilian tourist that come to this área for a Holiday. we,ve had lots of fun!!! we are now off in a few days to europe, to visit giovanni,s family after not seeing them for 2 and a half years!! excitement all round!!!
sending lots of love to all
jess and giovanni!
