Venice and the Dolomites!!!!

Dear friends and family,
Here are some photos of the wonderful time we had spending ten days with my Australian aunty and Italian uncle in Venice. They live in the centre of the magical old city and it was a treat to be so close to all the sites. We spent most of our time wandering around, taking photos, exploring on foot all the nooks and crannies of this beautiful place. It had been four years since Giovanni had been in Italy so he loved being surrounded by his own language and culture and eavesdropping!! (He finally understood why it´s hard to not listen to other people`s conversation behind you on a bus when it`s your own language!) He found it interesting to observe how fiery Italian`s are in Italy!! (Perhaps he feels that he has calmed down as a result of living ten years in Australia? I guess he has!)
During our time in Venice we went with Coll to the closest mountains, the Dolomites, which she has spent many years exploring, near Belluno, North Italy. It was stunning!! We climbed up to the top and found a stunning lake amongst the still snow capped mountains. It was icy but with a blue sky and was truly beautiful!!!
Lots of love
Jess and Giovanni

I couldn´t believe I was greeted by a towel embroidered with my name I had left in Venice at my Aunty`s more than ten years ago!!
My aunty Coll who has lived in Venice for more than 40 years!
